UPDATE: Missing New Mexico man has been located safe

UPDATE: Rafael Acosta, a missing man from Silver City, has been located by New Mexico State Police. He is safe and good health, El Paso Police said.

El Paso Police issued a Silver Alert for Acosta after he failed to arrive at his destination while visiting El Paso this weekend.

ORIGINAL: El Paso police are looking for an 80-year-old man from Silver City, New Mexico, who did not arrive at his destination while in El Paso.

On Sunday morning, February 8, police issued a Silver Alert for Rafael Acosta, 80, of Silver City.

Around 5:30 p.m., police last heard from the man. Friday, February 6. The missing man contacted the person who reported him missing, claiming he was in El Paso, but Acosta never arrived.

The missing man is driving a gray 2014 Chrysler 300 with New Mexico with plates AGGL99. The vehicle’s last known location was in Central El Paso, authorities added.

He was last seen wearing a blue or white baseball cap, a silver jacket, and blue or black jogging pants.
