A man described as a notorious human trafficker in Milwaukee was sentenced to nearly 22 years in prison after pleading guilty to sex trafficking and other offenses.
The US Attorney’s Office claims Morrell Johnson, 35, also known as “Money,” sold heroin, cocaine, and fentanyl and recruited addicted women for sex acts. He collected the money they received from sexual acts, as well as the debt for the narcotics they consumed.
According to court records, he utilized physical violence with “hands, fists, feet, threats, needles, and guns” whenever a sex worker refused or attempted to leave. Prosecutors allege that he also killed a dog to intimidate others. Prosecutors say he was on supervised release after serving time in prison for heroin distribution in Kenosha County when he committed his crimes.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, Johnson pleaded guilty to six incidents involving adult survivors. Some people attended his sentencing.
Oak Creek Police Chief David Stecker stated, “We are grateful for the survivors’ strength in securing a lengthy sentence, and we hope that this will help the survivors heal and move on.” We will continue to combat these atrocities and keep our neighborhoods secure.
The offenses were investigated by the FBI and Oak Creek police, with cooperation from the Green Bay Police Department and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
