A 15-year-old student at a Wisconsin high school was apprehended Thursday morning after authorities discovered he was on active probation and in possession of firearms.
According to the Kenosha Police Department, officers arrested a Bradford High School student at 10:30 a.m. The juvenile had an active probation hold detainer.
Prior to the arrest, officers were informed that the kid had allegedly been spotted with a firearm off school grounds and that the weapon could be housed at his home.
Police worked with school administrators to find the student. Officers responded to the school and safely held the juvenile in a hallway to avoid disrupting school activities. A search was then performed outside the school building.
During the search, officers discovered several handgun magazines and ammo in the juvenile’s possession. Authorities conducted a thorough check of the school and adjacent grounds and reported no additional contraband detected.
Investigators stated they do not believe a firearm was carried onto the school property.
The investigation is underway.
