A Chicago man accused of a fatal stabbing last year has been detained in California, according to authorities.
Carlos Ochoa-Ynaga, 49, was detained on Wednesday in the 4000 block of West Orange Street in Riverside, California, according to Chicago police.
He has been charged with one felony count of first-degree murder. Police also verified that a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
Authorities identified Ochoa-Ynaga as the culprit in the fatal stabbing of a 34-year-old man on September 21, 2025, in the 4600 block of West Diversey Avenue.
Further information about the stabbing and the victim has not been disclosed.
Ochoa-Ynaga was arrested in California and extradited to Chicago, police said.
