Lewisburg Woman Apprehended for Allegedly Filing False Police Reports

According to a criminal complaint, on February 7, an officer responded to the area surrounding Tudor’s Biscuit World in Lewisburg. The call was about a domestic violence protection order violation. Officers arrived at the location and spoke with the caller, later identified as Erin Bumgardner. The officer requested Bumgardner to point out the person she said was subjected to the DVP.

Bumgardner pointed to a male sitting at the opposite end of the dining area and identified him. An officer approached the guy Bumgardner named as the male responsible for violating the DVP. The officer identified the individual based on his Alabama driver’s license. The male was eating breakfast with his wife, and neither he nor she knew who Bumgardner was.

The officer then requested that Bumgardner show her the DVP she was carrying, as well as a photo of the individual mentioned on her phone. According to the criminal complaint, the person in the photo did not match the person sitting at the Tudors’ table.

Bumgardner had called 911 several times in the previous ten days to report instances that law enforcement found were fictitious. One of them occurred on February 2 in the city of Lewisburg. During the call, Bumgardner said there was a break-in at the Family Refuge Center in Lewisburg. Officers from the Lewisburg Police Department responded to the call and stated that there was no incident. This fact was confirmed by both the FRC director and workers. On February 4, Bumgardner allegedly made another call outside the Lewisburg municipal limits, to which law police arrived. The criminal complaint states that there was no crime committed.

With knowledge of the past events, Bumgardner was arrested for submitting a false report and taken to the Lewisburg Police Department for processing. The police obtained an OLN photo of the individual from the DVP, which reportedly did not match the man from Tudor’s. The man from the DVP had a huge tattoo on the right side of his neck, but the man from Tudor had none.

Bumgardner was no longer listed as an inmate at the time of publication.
