St. Petersburg Police Apprehend Two Men For Attempted Murder And Robbery

Two men have been apprehended in connection with the shooting of an 18-year-old man in a St. Petersburg apartment building.

According to a press release from the St. Petersburg Police Department, Charles Hinton and Christopher Tonsel face charges of attempted first-degree murder and robbery with a deadly weapon. The incident took place on February 11 at the Citrus Grove Apartments, located in the 700 block of 15th Street South.

Shortly around 5 p.m., the victim and another man encountered Hinton and Tonsel in the parking lot. Hinton and Tonsel entered the back seat of a vehicle as the victim sat in the front passenger seat. Hinton then allegedly took out a gun and shot the victim in the back of the neck.

After the shooting, Hinton and Tonsel fled on foot. The driver of the vehicle went to a neighboring convenience shop in the 900 block of 16th Street South to seek assistance.

The sufferer was taken to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition, according to the news release.
