Missing Weymouth Man Discovered Deceased After Blizzard

A Massachusetts man who went missing during Monday’s blizzard has been discovered deceased.

Brendan L. Rogers, 45, who was reported missing on Monday, was recovered in a remote forested area near the Fore River after an exhaustive search, the Weymouth Police Department confirmed Wednesday.

Rogers was last seen walking away from his residence on Commercial Street in Weymouth at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, according to police. His cellphone was later detected near the intersection of Commercial Street and Regina Road, according to Weymouth Emergency Management.

Rogers’ abduction occurred as a major nor’easter pounded much of the Northeast, dumping more than 18 inches of snow in Weymouth.

After no public updates on Tuesday, authorities said Wednesday that Rogers’ body had been found with the assistance of the Massachusetts State authorities, the Massachusetts Environmental Police, and other investigation units.

“While this is not the desired outcome, we are grateful to everyone who helped us find him,” the department stated in a Facebook post.

Authorities stated that there is no evidence of foul play at this time.

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to Brendan’s family, friends, and everyone who loved him,” the department said.
