4 charged after police seize 44 pounds of methamphetamine during drug raids in Georgia

Four individuals are facing federal charges after a series of drug trafficking searches in metro Atlanta resulted in the recovery of 44 pounds of methamphetamine, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

During operations in Douglasville and Fayetteville this week, law enforcement authorities seized around 44 pounds of meth and two guns.

According to investigators, Pablo Soria-Porras and Eduardo Benitez-Jacinto sold two pounds of methamphetamine to an undercover DEA agent in Lithia Springs on February 25. A search warrant performed on March 24 at a Douglasville home resulted in the arrest of Benitez-Jacinto and Sergio Solano-Sanchez, where authorities allegedly discovered 33 pounds of meth.

Near a separate incident, officials said Jesus Diaz Iniguez was arrested near Fayetteville and found with 11 pounds of methamphetamine.

Solano-Sanchez, Benitez-Jacinto, and Iniguez have appeared in federal court and are still in detention.

A fourth suspect, Pablo Soria-Porras, 23, remains at large. Authorities have asked anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact local police.

Officials said the arrests were part of “Operation Take Back America,” a government program aimed at drug trafficking organizations and transnational criminal groups.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia is prosecuting the case.
