A Central Florida burglary suspect was apprehended following a rapid police reaction.
The Kissimmee Police Department recently got a report of suspicious activity at a neighborhood drugstore after a citizen called 911 to report the incident.
The suspect was quickly located and apprehended thanks to the collaboration of multiple units, including our patrol officers; detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division, Intelligence Unit, and TAC Units, as well as the use of a KPD drone and assistance from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office TAC Unit.
Multiple charges were filed as a result of the responding officers’ combined efforts and investigation work.
The suspect was identified as Jean Carlos Hernandez Mejia. He was charged with burglary to an uninhabited structure, criminal mischief, petit theft, and violating his probation.
According to law enforcement, this Central Florida case demonstrates the value of teamwork among units and agencies, as well as quick response and thorough investigation.
