POMEROY, Ohio - A Flood Watch has been issued for Meigs County and the surrounding areas from the afternoon of February 6 to the afternoon of February 7, 2019.
Expected are rounds of moderate to heavy rain and the combination of already saturated soils, may cause flooding. Expect to see strong rises in creeks and streams and eventually major rivers. Be prepared for potential closure of some roadways that parallel rivers and creeks.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
In addition to Meigs County, other areas under the watch include in southeast Ohio, Athens, Gallia, Jackson OH, Lawrence OH, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington. In West Virginia, Boone, Cabell, Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Jackson WV, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, Mingo, Pleasants, Putnam, Ritchie, Roane, Tyler, Wayne, Wirt, and Wood.
