2 Delaware County officers accused of sharing confidential police information with drug dealer

Two police officers in Delaware County are facing charges for allegedly helping a drug dealer by sharing confidential law enforcement information.

Vincent Procopio, a detective with the Sharon Hill Police Department, and Dominic Dellabarba, a patrol officer from the same department, each face multiple charges tied to their alleged involvement with the dealer, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced Thursday.

Authorities have charged Procopio with possession with intent to deliver for allegedly acting as an accomplice in drug distribution. He also faces charges including bribery, tampering with physical evidence, and other offenses linked to claims that he assisted the dealer in exchange for cocaine.

Dellabarba is charged with obstructing the administration of law, along with other related offenses.

According to officials, Procopio allegedly alerted the dealer about ongoing investigations and shared information about individuals connected to the dealer’s operations.

Investigators say Dellabarba also assisted the dealer after learning about the investigation, including providing details about active warrants.

Officials noted that they have not identified the dealer, who is also facing criminal charges, because that individual provided information to law enforcement.

Both officers were placed on paid administrative leave after the county’s criminal investigation division began its probe in February.

The investigation remains ongoing.
