A major injury incident involving two vehicles closed eastbound traffic on U.S. Route 33 Thursday afternoon, causing a significant emergency response and transporting four individuals to nearby hospitals.
According to first accounts from the scene, the incident occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. near the County Road 57 intersection.
According to authorities, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office handled the collision, with assistance from various agencies. Emergency crews from Indian Lake EMS, Bellefontaine EMS, BMRT Ambulance District, and Huntsville Fire responded and transported four people.
Three of the injured were brought to Lima Memorial Hospital, while one was evacuated to Mary Rutan Hospital. One of the patients, described as old, reportedly had chest symptoms.
Officials also stated that a cat was discovered inside one of the automobiles involved in the incident. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office currently has control of the animal.
The eastbound lanes of US 33 were closed for around 60 to 90 minutes before reopening.
The crash’s cause is still being investigated, and further information is anticipated to be disclosed soon.
