2 from South Carolina charged with murder after Massachusetts man discovered dead in trash can

Two men have been accused after a Massachusetts man was discovered dead in a horrific manner.

According to the City of Marion, South Carolina, Police Department, 31-year-old Shaiquan Ramaal Foxworth of Marion was arrested this week and charged with David Hutchinson’s January murder.

Hutchinson’s body was located behind a trash can outside an abandoned home on Pearl Street.

Foxworth has been charged with murder (no bond has been set at this time), desecration or removal of human remains ($10,000 bond), conspiracy ($5,000 bond), possession of a weapon while committing a violent crime ($5,000 bond), and discharge of a firearm inside city limits ($1,087.50 bond). His total bond is set at $21,087.50. A circuit court judge will assess bond for the murder charge at a later date.

Additionally, Travis Jermaine Godbolt, 31, who is presently being jailed at the Marion County Detention Center on other charges, has been charged in connection with Hutchinson’s death. His charges include murder (no bond is set at this time), desecration or removal of human remains ($10,000 bond), and conspiracy ($5,000 bond). Godbolt’s bond has been set at $15,000. As with Foxworth, a circuit court judge will assess bond on the murder charge at a later date.

Thomas Lee Brigman, Jr. was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to murder. His bond was set at $15,000 surety.

While authorities have not provided any information, a GoFundMe account set up by Hutchinson’s family claims that he was “lured to South Carolina with the promise of making money by a woman who claimed to be an entrepreneur, but upon arrival, he quickly realized it was all a setup.” After being robbed of his money, he was dumped off at a trap house, where his phone was also seized. An altercation occurred before his departure, and his barbering equipment was also stolen. When Dave confronted the person(s) he believed had taken his stuff, he was met with violence, and a revolver was drawn. Later that day, he disappeared without a trace.

The investigation is underway. Anyone with information about this event is requested to call the Marion Police Department at 843-423-8616 or submit it via the department’s mobile app. Tips can be provided anonymously.
