The Arizona Attorney General’s Office reports that a man in Pima County has been sentenced to over nine years in prison for selling fentanyl.
Steven Carrillo was sentenced to 9.75 years in jail on Monday, April 20.
Carrillo pleaded guilty to attempting to convey a narcotic substance for sale, possessing a narcotic drug for sale, and conducting an illicit operation. “Fentanyl continues to devastate Arizona communities,” stated Attorney General Kris Mayes. “My office will continue to aggressively go after those who flood our state with this deadly drug.”
According to authorities, between April 3, 2024, and November 6, 2024, Carrillo managed a criminal operation that sold fentanyl, cocaine, and heroin on various occasions.
During the execution of a search warrant, authorities discovered large quantities of fentanyl and cocaine, as well as many scales and a money counter, inside Carrillo’s home.
