Police: Former Manager At Central Pennsylvania Club Stole $376,000 For Gambling Addiction

A former manager at a central Pennsylvania club is accused of stealing $376,000 to fund her gambling addiction, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed on Tuesday.

West York Borough Police charged 38-year-old Brittany Jackson of York with felony theft and receiving stolen items following an investigation involving the Viking Athletic Association (Viking Club), according to court records.

The affidavit says Jackson was the club’s manager from May 2024 to April 2026, and she had access to all of the club’s financial accounts. Her responsibilities included replenishing the ATM with cash.

The club’s board of directors notified police on May 1 of a $376,460 deficit in the club’s ATM account. Police claimed they investigated the club’s audit and discovered anomalies in early 2025, which increased in frequency.

According to the charging documents, Jackson was significantly involved in internet gambling, withdrawing and depositing more than $2 million while working for the club. When police questioned her on May 28, they said she admitted to stealing to compensate for her losses.

The club stated in a statement that all operations will continue as usual despite being the victim of a “significant financial crime”.

“Although the Viking AA is a victim of a significant financial crime, we remain a financially strong organisation,” the statement states. “All operations continue as normal without interruption, including our dining and bar operations, banquets and special events.”

The statement goes on to add that after the alleged theft, the club has taken “extensive steps” to prevent something similar from happening again.
