A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office corrections deputy was taken into custody this week after being accused of abusing a teenage girl and displaying her obscene material, authorities said.
Manuel DeJesus Chavecodelgado, 42, was arrested Tuesday on three counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child aged 12 to 16 and one count of displaying obscene material to a minor.
According to a Hialeah Police Special Victims Unit investigation, the charges are based on instances reported by the girl between the ages of 13 and 15.
Investigators stated the incidents occurred at Hialeah residences and inside Delgado’s vehicle.
According to police, the girl reported several occurrences during a taped interview, including charges that Delgado sexually touched her and showed her explicit material on his cellphone.
Delgado was arrested early Wednesday and transferred to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
On June 16, a judge signed an arrest warrant and set a $65,000 bond.
