Teen facing several charges in Oklahoma City shooting death

A 19-year-old man is facing charges for the murder of a man in November.

Around 5:30 p.m. on November 15, 2025, Oklahoma City police responded to a possible robbery and shooting between S.E. 57th and Bodine.

When they arrived, they discovered 21-year-old Ralend Rex-Dean with gunshot wounds.

Rex-Dean was transported to a neighboring hospital and died of his injuries.

Investigators say 19-year-old Christopher Upchurch shot Rex-Dean during an attempted robbery.

Upchurch was eventually arrested for the crime.

He is now charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, possession of a firearm after a juvenile adjudication, and sentence enhancement for weapon possession.

Upchurch’s arraignment is scheduled for July 8.
