Detectives took into custody a woman’s boyfriend on a murder charge hours after she was discovered shot to death in her Cedar Hill home early Thursday, according to police.
Michael Brown, 47, of Dallas, was arrested and is currently housed in the Dallas County Jail. According to jail records, no bond amounts had been set.
Around 3:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Venus Court in response to reports of a shooting with injuries. The Cedar Hill Police Department reported that they located an unresponsive woman inside the apartment and performed life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the spot.
Nearly six hours later, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Brown and detained him, authorities said.
Investigators suspect the shooting was the result of a domestic disagreement, and Brown was the woman’s boyfriend.
Police did not immediately provide any additional information.
The investigation is underway.
