A motorcycle crash on Route 51 in Fayette County killed two people and badly injured another.
At 11:51 a.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the 3530 block of Pittsburgh Road in Perryopolis, near Randall’s Restaurant.
State Police reported that two people were killed in the crash: the motorcyclist and the driver of the other vehicle. The passenger in the vehicle was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.
On Thursday, around 7:25 p.m., Fayette County Coroner Dr. Bob Baker identified the victims as Larry Hall, 81, of Belle Vernon, and Frank McKula, 41, of Grindstone.
Baker claimed McKula was driving the motorcycle that collided with Hall’s vehicle at a high rate of speed. The person that was transported to the hospital was Hall’s passenger.
“Please remember the families and friends of those impacted by the deaths of these individuals this evening in your thoughts and prayers,” Baker added.
Route 51 was closed in both directions between Rehoboth Church Road and Constitution Street.
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
