Officers from the Fairfax County Police Department worked all night to investigate the tragic double shooting in Centerville.
According to PFC Ingrid Palencia, first responders were summoned around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, after a family member reported a shooting in their house on the 6300 block of Sharps Drive.
When they arrived, they discovered the man and woman had been fatally shot. Detectives also discovered a handgun at the home.
According to Palencia, the family member who contacted 911 resided in the home, as did the children who were present at the time.
It is unclear what age the children are. They are being cared for by family. Palencia further stated that there is “definitely” no threat to the public and that all parties engaged in the shooting have been identified.
