A 55-year-old Summerfield man was taken into custody in Wildwood after reportedly speeding with a suspended license and a bag of marijuana in his pocket.
According to an arrest record from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, Timothy Ronald Dochniak was driving a gray Nissan truck when he was pulled over near County Road 229 and County Road 228 on Wednesday at 3:52 p.m. A deputy caught the truck on radar at 55 mph in a 45 mph zone.
During the traffic stop, Dochniak offered the deputy a Florida identification card and admitted to not having a valid driver’s license. He allegedly informed the deputy that his license had been suspended owing to a prior driving under the influence allegation.
The deputy instructed Dochniak to get out of the truck and detained him. During a pat-down, Dochniak allegedly claimed to have a bag of marijuana in his left front pocket. The deputy discovered a clear plastic bag containing 30.8 grams of marijuana. A dispatcher confirmed that the resident of St. Paul, Minnesota, does not have a medicinal marijuana card.
Dochniak’s criminal history revealed many prior convictions for driving while suspended and drug possession.
Dochniak was arrested on felony accusations of driving with a suspended license and possessing more than 20 grams of marijuana. He was arrested at the Sumter County Detention Center and is being detained on a $7,500 bond.
