An Orlando man is facing charges after threatening a stranger at a bus stop and demanded his belongings, according to police.
The incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Monday in the 3400 block of Conroy Road.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim was seated at a bus stop when a group of four individuals approached and sat beside him.
“Run your pockets,” one of the men replied, according to the affidavit. The victim stated that he then felt the muzzle of a gun put on the back of his head. “You heard what he said,” the man with the handgun allegedly told him.
The victim questioned whether the man was willing to kill him for sweets and keys. The men instructed him to move away. As he did, the victim noticed the man he thought had the gun — later identified as Nicholas Javonn Sigma, 44 — tucking a weapon into his belt with a transparent vodka bottle. The victim then witnessed the group board LYNX Bus 57 and travel southbound on John Young Parkway.
Officers identified the bus and made a felony traffic stop. Except for Sigma, all passengers followed commands. He looked at the cops issuing commands, turned away, and started walking. Officers arrested him after he disobeyed several commands, according to the affidavit.
The victim then identified Sigma, who was still dressed in the specified gray tank top and blue trousers, as the man who threatened him. A transparent vodka bottle was discovered in Sigma’s jeans, but no firearms were confiscated.
Sigma faces charges of attempted robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault with a handgun, and resisting an officer without violence. He was booked into the Orange County Jail.
