A 23-year-old Frostproof man was taken into custody Monday afternoon on Interstate 4 after a traffic stop revealed he was driving with a suspended license, only six days after being convicted of the same offense twice in August.
At 3:09 p.m., a Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputy pulled over a black Nissan sedan at the Interstate 4 rest stop. The driver was identified as Jason Donald Brewer.
When the deputy asked for Brewer’s driver’s license, he stated that he didn’t have one.
“Sir, I am sorry, but I was incarcerated, and they suspended my license, so I don’t have one,” Brewer told the officer, according to the arrest record.
A record check revealed that Brewer had already been cited for driving with a suspended license twice last month, on August 13 and August 17. According to court documents, he was found guilty of both counts on September 15.
Deputies arrested Brewer at the spot. Brewer yelled at the arresting deputy while being taken into custody.
“You could’ve just let me go. “You’re a monster,” Brewer stated. “It’s not like this is going to make me change; I am gonna just keep doing it.”
Brewer was taken to the Polk County Sheriff’s Processing Center and charged on a misdemeanor charge of driving while license suspended or revoked.
