As college football returns to the field, the lottery has partnered with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University to introduce two new scratch‑off games on Tuesday.
This collaboration represents the lottery’s inaugural launch of university‑branded games.
“We are excited about the potential of these games knowing that North Carolinians are extremely passionate about the UNC and NC State rivalry,” said Randy Spielman, chief product officer of the N.C. Education Lottery. “We can’t wait to see all the Tar Heel and Wolfpack faithful show off their school pride by trying their luck on these exciting new scratch‑offs.”
The two scratch‑offs, TAR HEELS® and NC STATE®, are priced at $5 each and each offers two top prizes of $200,000. Together, the games provide more than $20 million in total prizes. Both games also feature a second‑chance promotion that grants winners VIP experiences with their favorite teams.
Each game is available in three distinct ticket designs, encouraging fans to collect them as souvenirs that represent their respective schools.
The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 4.16, while the odds of securing the $200,000 top prize stand at 1 in 1.44 million.
