Miami police have detained one of two women accused of robbing a man after making him a drink at his home, authorities said.
According to a Miami Police Department arrest record, Hugana Davis, 49, of Dania Beach, was arrested Monday in Miami Gardens on charges of burglary of an occupied house, third-degree grand theft, and organized plan to defraud.
Police said the incident occurred on March 30 when the victim met Davis’ accomplice, who is still at large, at a liquor store at 2525 NE Second Ave.
According to the report, after some small talk, the victim and the woman decided to meet at the victim’s house, along with the woman’s friend, later identified as Davis, who was waiting in the woman’s SUV.
According to police, the women “mixed the victim a drink” in his residence.
The victim told investigators that Davis urged him to drink by saying, “Oh, you’re not drinking enough. Sip some more,” and then tried to distract him by stating, “I’m from Canada, and I enjoy giving white boys massages.”
According to the arrest report, as Davis massaged him, the victim noticed that the other woman was snatching his credit cards and yelled at her.
However, authorities said Davis encouraged him to relax and calmed him down.
According to the report, the victim subsequently fell deeply asleep. When he awoke, he realized that his iPhone, $7,000 Rolex watch, and spare car keys had all vanished. He subsequently went online and discovered that $3,000 had been transferred from his bank account to another via Zelle, according to investigators.
According to the article, the victim named Davis as a suspect in a photo lineup on April 15, but police did not find her until Tuesday.
Davis was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Wednesday morning on a $2,500 bond. If she posts bond, she is required to keep away from the victim.
Anyone with information on the other woman’s identify or location is asked to contact the Miami Police Department or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
