Robert C Bailey (Bob)
Robert C Bailey (Bob), 96, of Pomeroy, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center, Middleport, Ohio on MAY 5, 2023.
Bob was born July 26, 1926 in Columbus Ohio to the late Carl and Dorthy (Buck) Bailey.
Bob attended Rutland High School, where in his word ” I went squirrel hunting one day and never went back”! He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Japan, returned home to work in the coal mines and retired from Foote Mineral after many years of service. Bob was active in the Meigs County Beagle Club, being an original charter-life member and past president.
Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Wilovene Wagner Zurcher whom he married in 1980. A daughter Iris Christine Bailey Hammett, a son, Robert C Bailey Jr., brother William (& Dolores) Bailey and several step children and grandchildren.
Surviving Bob is a sister, Darlene (James) Emmitt, several nieces and nephews, two step sons and their families, a sister in law, and numerous grand, great and great-great children, and son in law Will Hammett.

Calling hours for Bob will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 11:00am -12:00pm
with funeral services to follow at Anderson-McDaniel Funeral Home,
Pomeroy, Ohio with Jay Proffitt officiating.
Graveside services will follow at Meigs
Memory Gardens in Pomeroy, Ohio beside his wife, children and parents.
