A former Tallahassee teacher is now serving a state prison sentence for misconduct with a student.

According to state records, Sophina Webb arrived at the Florida Women’s Reception Center in Marion County on Monday.

According to the arrest papers, she taught English at a Leon County high school.

She pled no contest to exchanging nearly 9,000 sexual text conversations with a 15-year-old girl in 2021.

This month, a judge sentenced her to eight years in prison and seven years on sex offender probation.

Court documents reveal that Webb is appealing her sentence.
