Two state troopers were shot while responding to a complaint in south-central Pennsylvania on Wednesday evening.

It happened near Exit 3 on Interstate 81 southbound in Antrim Township, Franklin County.

Police said the troopers were shot during an exchange of gunfire and transported to local hospitals.

Police reported that one of the suspects had also been shot.

The conditions of individuals involved have not been published.

State police did not immediately provide information on the nature of the event, stating that further details would be revealed later.

Police said there is now no threat to the public.

Gov. Josh Shapiro stated on social media that he and First Lady Lori Shapiro are praying for the troopers.
