Authorities have canceled a SAFE Alert for an 88-year-old woman who did not return home after leaving an East Valley hospital on Monday night.
Cherie Boulton left Banner Ocotillo Medical Center in Chandler around 6:30 p.m. but never returned to her home in Sun Lakes.
A SAFE Alert was issued at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday but was rescinded nearly 12 hours later.
The Chandler Police Department reported that Boulton was discovered safe at her home on Tuesday morning.

She was driving a white 2022 Hyundai Elantra with the Arizona plate 8FA0HF and wearing a patterned top.
Boulton is 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 197 pounds, and has blond hair and brown eyes.

In Arizona, SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts as a means of informing the public about missing people aged 65 and up, as well as those suffering from dementia or developmental/cognitive problems.
