Police arrested a man on Tuesday for allegedly strangling a woman after he “became angry about a sandwich that was not made properly” and then strangling and hitting her again while she was holding an infant.
Brandon Weigt, 24, faces one fourth-degree felony offense of strangling and one misdemeanor charge of endangering minors, domestic violence, and assault.
According to court documents, Weigt became upset over the sandwich and strangled the woman until she was unable to breathe. He later began strangling the woman again, threatening to murder her and punching her “several times in the back of the head” while she was holding the 4-month-old infant.
A judge set Weigt’s bond at $50,000 and ordered that he have no contact with the victim. He is due back in court on January 7.
