Dallas police apprehended a man for murder after he said he shot a couple he met on an online dating app.

According to investigators, Noah Trueba, 26, shot and killed a 57-year-old woman on Friday morning in Northwest Dallas. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced one of the victims, 57-year-old Guadalupe Gonzalez, dead on the scene.

The second victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Trueba, according to an affidavit, drank and did drugs with the couple who claimed to be husband and wife. Trueba later told authorities that the couple attempted to sexually assault him, so he opened fire.

A police drone found Trueba hiding along a neighboring roadway after he fled the area.

Trueba was detained on the scene. He is currently in the Dallas County Jail and has been charged with murder.

The case is an ongoing investigation; anyone with information should contact Detective Brewster Billings at 214-671-3083 or [email protected].
