Dariel Javier Quiles-Davila, a 27-year-old former Kissimmee Police Department officer, was sentenced to seven years in federal prison for obtaining child sexual abuse material. Quiles-Davila was convicted by a federal jury on August 22, 2025.
According to court documents and evidence revealed during the trial, Quiles-Davila encountered a minor victim while on duty in October 2023. After getting the victim’s contact information, he chatted with the minor on his personal cell phone and social media, provided money, and requested sexually explicit images and videos. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kissimmee Police Department investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Michael Sartoian and Chauncey A. Bratt.
This case falls within Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide campaign started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. According to the Department of Justice, the initiative’s goal is to seek, seize, and prosecute individuals who exploit minors, as well as identify and rescue victims.
