Report: Drug task force removes firearms, drugs from two Trumbull County homes

The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office TAG Drug Task Force executed simultaneous search warrants, with assistance from the Niles Police Department, seizing multiple drugs and firearms.

After conducting lengthy investigations, the task force carried out searches at a residence in the 500 block of South Main St. in Niles and another in the 1400 block of West Ave. in Warren, according to a news release.

Officers reported recovering nearly 3,600 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 609 grams of cocaine, 265 grams of fentanyl, 81 grams of heroin, and approximately $22,000. They also seized two bulletproof vests, various ammunition, 11 firearms, and two narcotic presses.

The Warren City Police Street Crimes Unit, Niles Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Drug Enforcement Administration — Youngstown, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted in the operation.

Authorities continue the investigation, and they will file charges pending lab results.
