Missing 15-year-old found, back with family, sheriff’s office says

Update, 9:28 p.m.: The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office announced late April 26 that Maya Barreto has been found safe and reunited with her family.

Previous coverage: The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 15-year-old who was reported missing earlier this weekend.

Deputies say they are looking for Maya Barreto, who was last seen at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, April 24, at McNicholas High School on Beechmont Avenue in Mount Washington.

Authorities said she was walking eastbound on Beechmont and was believed to be heading across town to Fairview Park in the CUF neighborhood.

Deputies noted that she has a history of self-harm and consider her a critical missing juvenile.

Barreto stands 5 feet, 4 inches tall, with black hair and hazel eyes.
