COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two suspects from southwest Ohio are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday after authorities allegedly found them in possession of nearly $6 million worth of suspected narcotics.
Federal prosecutors said investigators seized more than 700 pounds of suspected cocaine from an uncle and his nephew. The haul included a recent search and seizure of 244 kilograms of the suspected drug in the Columbus area.
According to court records, the Drug Enforcement Agency’s Cincinnati District Office, working alongside the Cincinnati Police Department and the Cincinnati Homeland Security Task Force, received information in December 2025 alleging that Damian Galan and Diego Galan were trafficking drugs across southern and central Ohio.
Investigators began monitoring the pair and eventually tracked them to a Holiday Inn Express in Columbus, according to a court affidavit. On May 9, authorities observed the suspects traveling together and allegedly transferring suspected narcotics and drug proceeds from the hotel into a vehicle.
The men then allegedly drove to Diego Galan’s home in Fairfield, Ohio, where investigators said they watched them move four storage containers from the vehicle into the residence.
Agents later executed search warrants at Diego Galan’s Fairfield home and Damian Galan’s residence in Cincinnati. During those searches, authorities allegedly recovered more than 80 grams of suspected cocaine, firearms, suspected methamphetamine, and large amounts of cash.
Authorities said investigators also discovered an additional 244 kilograms of suspected cocaine in Columbus. Combined with earlier seizures, the total amount of suspected narcotics recovered reached about 325 kilograms, or 716 pounds. Police estimated the street value of the drugs at more than $5.8 million.
Court documents state that the investigation included intercepted wire and electronic communications, which allegedly confirmed that both suspects were involved in distributing large quantities of narcotics.
Authorities arrested the two men on Tuesday. Each has been charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess cocaine with the intent to distribute it, a federal offense that carries a potential prison sentence ranging from 10 years to life.
