A Philadelphia man was sentenced to years in prison for breaking into parked tractor trailers and stealing televisions, crab legs, and hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of dimes.
On June 11, 2026, Salahudin Reddy, 39, was sentenced to 94 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
In March 2026, Reddy pleaded guilty to conspiracy, four counts of interstate shipment theft, one count of theft of government money, one count of possession of stolen government money, and one count of possession of materials stolen during an interstate shipment.
According to officials, between January 1 and July 31, 2023, Reddy and his co-conspirators stole interstate cargo from tractor trailers near Philadelphia.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the cargo thieves targeted unattended vehicles or trucks with sleeping drivers, breaking into the trailers and stealing the contents inside with bolt cutters and other tools.
Reddy acknowledged participating in the thefts of hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of frozen crab legs on April 4, 2023, and again on April 6, 2023; the theft of over $360,000 worth of Samsung televisions on April 10, 2023; and the theft of over $230,000 worth of US dimes on April 13, 2023.
Reddy and his co-conspirators participated in multiple other cargo thefts, stealing nearly $1.5 million in goods from at least ten victims, according to officials.
The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department jointly investigated this case.
