4 Apprehended And $1.4M Worth Of Narcotics Seized In Ventura County Drug Bust

In a large-scale Ventura County drug bust, investigators confiscated $1.4 million in illicit substances and took into custody four suspects.

The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office identified the four suspects, all of whom were North Hollywood residents, as:

  • Victor Manuel Otero Correa, 23
  • Jorge Humberto Valdivia, 27
  • Jorge Arturo Marquez Chavez, 28
  • Angel Omar Azpeitia Garcia, 31

In August 2025, Simi Valley police investigators, assisted by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, conducted various search warrants at locations throughout Los Angeles County, resulting in the recovery of:

  • Approximately 24 pounds of fentanyl
  • 18.75 pounds of methamphetamine
  • 4.5 pounds of heroin
  • 1 pound of cocaine.
  • More than $129,000 in cash, digital scales and packaging materials

Authorities assessed the street value of the drugs and evidence confiscated at $1.4 million. The amount of fentanyl discovered amounted to around five million potentially deadly doses.

On June 18, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office stated that it will take over prosecution of the case. The four individuals were charged with 17 federal offenses in connection with a large-scale drug trafficking operation that included fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine.

Because federal prosecutors took over the investigation, the accused’ local charges were dropped.

According to the indictment, each suspect faces a required minimum sentence of ten years in jail.

“The amount of narcotics recovered in this case was staggering and posed a significant threat to public safety throughout Ventura County,” said Senior Deputy District Attorney Audry Nafziger, who conducted the investigation. “Federal prosecution ensures these defendants face substantial consequences and reflects the seriousness of the conduct alleged.”
