A New York man was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison on Monday for his role in a conspiracy to distribute over 19 pounds of methamphetamine in the Phoenix region.
Hector Delacruz, 36, was convicted of possession with intent and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 25 years for one offense and ten years for the other.
The case stems from a September 2023 narcotics transaction in west Phoenix. In October 2025, a federal jury convicted Delacruz, finding that he had committed two prior major narcotics felonies, which triggered higher punishments under federal sentence rules.
A Glock 19 handgun was seized as part of the investigation.
“Delacruz’s 25-year sentence reflects his repeated disregard for the law and the devastating effects that methamphetamine inflicts on individuals, families, and communities across America,” said U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona Timothy Courchaine.
The Drug Enforcement Administration, Glendale Police Department, the United States Secret Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives all investigated the case.
