A nurse employed at a local jail in Central Florida was apprehended for drug possession.
The nurse employed by CFG Health Systems, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office’s contracted medical provider, and working at the South County Jail was arrested for cocaine possession.
Winter Haven police officers pulled over a car that seemed to have improper tint and failed to stop at two stop signs. They made touch with the driver, David Lindsay Pohl, 50, of Winter Haven.
According to police authorities, Pohl was seen wiping a white substance off his jeans during the conversation, and a white rock-like substance was discovered on the driver’s seat.
The drug tested positive for cocaine, according to local authorities.
WHPD charged Pohl with one count of cocaine possession and handed him a citation for the unlawful tint. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office booking staff discovered Pohl’s employer information and quickly alerted CFG Health and PCSO supervisors.
“As a contractual nurse, he was already familiar with our jail. “Today, he sees it from the other side of the bars,” Sheriff Grady Judd stated at the time of the arrest. “We expect everyone who works for our agency to follow the law. Clearly, this suspect is no longer trusted to work in our prison facilities, particularly with access to prescription drugs.”
