Two Mississippi men are facing felony drug trafficking charges after law enforcement seized more than half a pound of cocaine during a traffic stop in southern Alabama, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Cassious Lett and Travis Colley, both of Moss Point, Mississippi, were arrested after officers searched their vehicle Sunday night and discovered over 300 grams of cocaine, a tiny amount of marijuana, and more than $7,000 in cash.
During a routine traffic check, Atmore police officers determined there was probable cause to search the vehicle. The seized funds have been submitted for civil forfeiture proceedings.
Lett and Colley were charged with cocaine trafficking, second-degree marijuana possession, and unlawful possession of narcotics paraphernalia. The two Moss Point guys were booked into Alabama’s Escambia County Detention Center and are still being held there while they await bond.
