Five minors are in custody after allegedly making a life-threatening social media post directed at a Mississippi principal, law enforcement officials announced Monday.
Deputies with the Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office were notified Sunday morning of a Facebook post carrying direct threats to the principal’s life. After conducting an initial investigation into the event, officials discovered and captured five male juveniles on Monday.
All five minors are charged with making terroristic threats.
Sheriff’s officers highlighted that any threats of violence inside the community will be met with prompt legal action.
“Threats against our schools, school personnel, students, or community members will not be tolerated and will be thoroughly investigated,” the sheriff’s office stated in a statement.
The juveniles’ names and ages have not been revealed by authorities due to their minor status. The investigation is underway.
