A Cicero man is facing criminal charges after investigators say they discovered cocaine and firearms in his west suburban house last week.
Cicero man charged after drug raid
After learning that Salvador Rodriguez was allegedly trafficking illegal substances, the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Organized Crime Division and the FBI’s Windy City Gang Task Force launched an investigation against him in August.
On September 22, investigators carried out a search warrant at Rodriguez’s residence in the 13100 block of South 57th Court.
Authorities say they discovered:
- About a half-kilogram of suspected cocaine
- Suspected marijuana
- Suspected psilocybin mushrooms
- Cash
- Two firearms
- Extended and drum magazines
- Ammunition
Rodriguez, 38, was brought into arrest.
He was accused of manufacturing and delivering cocaine, a controlled narcotic, and cannabis.
Rodriguez was committed to Cook County Jail detention on September 23 following his initial court appearance in Maywood.
He is due back in court on October 14.
Arrest history
According to Chicago Police Department records, Rodriguez was detained on February 4, 2020, at 2441 S. Troy St. The record includes one drug possession offense and three counts of carrying a concealed handgun. He was discharged the next morning.
