Amazon announced Tuesday that it will hire 300,000 seasonal, part-time and full-time workers across the U.S. this holiday season, a 20% increase over the same period last year.
The National Retail Federation expects holiday retail sales to top $1 trillion for the first time this year, according to its forecast.
In September, Amazon raised the minimum starting wage for full-time workers to $20 an hour. The retailer says full-time staffers earn roughly $24 per hour on average.
