Early Sunday, Chicago police were trying to find the person responsible for a mass shooting in Lakeview, only a few blocks south of Wrigley Field.

At 1:45 a.m., four people were shot in the 3400 block of North Clark Street. Police say an unidentified suspect exited a white pickup truck, pulled out a revolver, started a fire, and then fled north.

Two men, one 29 and the other 28, were shot once in the arm. A 29-year-old woman was shot once in her leg.

All three patients were transferred to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

A 25-year-old man was shot once in the shoulder and sent to Thorek Hospital, according to police.

All of the casualties were reported to be in fair condition.

Crime scene tape was seen on video near Al’s Beef, which is located in a tiny building at 3420 N. Clark St., where the diagonal highway meets Sheffield Avenue. Crime scene tape stretched down the block on the west side of Clark Street, past the former Pick Me Up Café and Neva Hangry restaurant on Roscoe Street.

Evidence markers for bullet casings were also found in front of Al’s.

Police did not identify whether the incident occurred at 1:45 a.m. daylight saving time or Central Standard Time, as there were two 1 a.m. hours Sunday morning due to the time change.

All of the restaurants in the vicinity are back open.

Alderman Bennett Lawson said he couldn’t comment because the inquiry into the incident was ongoing.

Nobody was in custody on Sunday morning. Detectives from the Belmont Area are conducting an investigation.
