Two people have been charged after police claim they were caught selling drugs in Pike County.

Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced the arrests of Raashid Nicholson, 45, and Monica Mombrun, 32, both of Philadelphia, following an investigation into methamphetamine and cocaine trafficking at Dingmans Ferry.

Following a two-month investigation, the two were apprehended when they arrived in Dingmans Ferry to deliver cocaine. According to authorities, detectives made controlled purchases of methamphetamine, cocaine, and Xanax tablets from Nicholson in a vehicle that Mombrun drove and owned.

When detectives approached to apprehend them, Nicholson attempted to flee by driving into a tree. He then fled while discarding a drug-filled bag into a forested area, investigators reported.

After a chase, investigators arrested Nicholson, while Mombrun was apprehended in the automobile.

Police seized over six ounces of methamphetamine, more than one ounce of cocaine, two ounces of ecstasy, and over 125 Xanax pills. The total street value of the drugs seized exceeds $10,000.

Nicholson and Mombrun were charged with intent to deliver a controlled narcotic, among other charges.
