A 29-year-old Indianapolis man is in jail after deputies say a recorded jail call on February 9 caught him threatening to harm both his jailed girlfriend and a Marion County judge. According to investigators, the alarming call warranted immediate surveillance, which resulted in his arrest later that day.
Soon after the call, investigators initiated surveillance at the man’s Indianapolis house, leading to his eventual detention later that day. According to Yahoo, officials discovered a white, powdery material during the search. According to the site, prosecutors have charged him with criminal intimidation to conduct terrorism as well as felony possession of cocaine, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Court documents obtained by WKRC Local 12 reveal that the suspect was sentenced to 535 days of probation on October 24, 2025, and was living in Indianapolis when deputies claim they monitored the call. When reviewing the taped chat, investigators took into account his probation status.
According to Yahoo, all Marion County Superior Court justices have recused themselves from the case, and a Hancock County judge will oversee future proceedings. The state Supreme Court issued a statement emphasizing the significance of judicial safety and reminded judges of the procedures that limit public discussion on pending cases.
Prosecutors and detectives have stated that they would continue to study the recorded phone call and material acquired during surveillance. Officials have not yet issued a court date or bond information, and they say the investigation is ongoing.
