4 suspects apprehended in shooting death of 17-year-old in Beech Island

Four people have been taken into custody in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old in Aiken County.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office reports that Jared Marsh, 18, and Tyler Lariscey, 17, have been charged with murder.

Marsh is also charged with possessing a weapon while committing a violent offense.

Both were nabbed on Tuesday following a traffic stop, according to authorities.

Bryan Alexander Jr. and Tarah Alexander, both 40, were also arrested on Tuesday. Both are charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

The allegations against all four individuals originate from the shooting death of Kahlil Simmons.

On April 13, a shooting occurred on the 100 block of Goodman Road at 6:35 p.m., with two male victims reported. Deputies arrived on the scene and discovered Simmons, who had died there. The Aiken County Coroner’s Office confirmed his death at the scene at 7:13 p.m.

According to the sheriff’s office, one individual was shot at least twice before being transported to a local hospital.

According to the arrest warrants, Tarah disposed of the weapons and clothing used/worn by Marsh and Lariscey during the incident.

According to the sheriff’s office, additional charges may be pending.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office received assistance in this case from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the United States Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force.
