Meigs County Deputies Arrest Two in Ongoing Drug Investigation

Deputies in Meigs County, Ohio, arrested two individuals during a drug trafficking investigation.

Authorities took Annetta Lambert and Kevin Roush into custody on Friday evening, the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office reported on social media Saturday morning.

An ongoing drug trafficking investigation led deputies to execute a search warrant at a North Second Avenue apartment in Middleport on Friday night. Upon entering the apartment, deputies observed a female dash into a room where she allegedly tampered with a large bag of suspected fentanyl. Deputies described this as “an apparent attempt to conceal its location.”

The post stated that deputies detained several people they encountered at the residence. Five juveniles were also present at the location, prompting deputies to contact Child Protective Services.

During their search of the residence, deputies discovered a large bag of suspected methamphetamine where it had been abandoned. They also found additional suspected methamphetamine in Roush’s possession.

Authorities charged both Lambert and Roush with possession of drugs. Lambert faced additional charges of trafficking in drugs and tampering with evidence.

The post included a statement from Meigs County Sheriff Scott Fitch regarding the arrests:

“Let me make this painfully clear. If you’re dealing meth in a home with children, you’ve already shown exactly what kind of person you are, and it’s not someone this community has any use for. Trying to hide it when we show up doesn’t make you clever, especially when you get caught. You can try to hide it, flush it or run from it, it doesn’t matter. We will find it, we will arrest you and you will answer for it. What kind of person fills a house with drugs and children at the same time? That’s not just criminal, it’s disgraceful. The Sheriff’s Office and the community are sick of it. If you’re dealing in Meigs County, we are coming for you, we are not slowing down and we are not playing games.”
