Ten people have been charged after Pennsylvania authorities dismantled what investigators described as a Lehigh County-based drug trafficking network that sold fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and other narcotics across numerous counties.
According to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, 40-year-old Emmaus resident Joaquin “Kino” Gonzalez is accused of leading the operation. Investigators said the organization employed Mexican suppliers to transfer drugs into Pennsylvania via links in Southern California.
Authorities stated that the probe began in 2024 and involves various law enforcement organizations, including the Allentown Police Department. Several arrests have occurred in recent days, including Gonzalez’s over the weekend.
Each of the ten defendants has been charged with corrupt organization, possession with intent to deliver controlled narcotics, conspiracy, and other charges.
Gonzalez, Danny Cancel, 25, of Bethlehem; Joel Castro, 41, of Orefield; Sally Garcia-Colon, 39, of Emmaus; Jorge Marrero-Rodriguez, 60, of Allentown; Jordan Pagan, 37, of Leola; John Pagan DeJesus, 49, of Whitehall; Israel Perez, 45, of Bethlehem; Anthony Planas, 42, of Bethlehem; and Hanzel Rivera, 37, of Bethlehem are among those charged.
Gonzalez’s bail has been set at $1 million, and the remaining suspects are being kept in custody until court procedures.
According to investigators, in 2024, Gonzalez delivered six pounds of methamphetamine to Jordan Pagan. During a subsequent traffic stop involving Rivera, authorities allegedly seized around four pounds of methamphetamine, seven pounds of marijuana, and $2,500 cash.
The Attorney General’s Office reported that search warrants executed during the investigation resulted in the recovery of nearly five pounds of fentanyl, 1.7 pounds of heroin, 3,000 fentanyl pills, 4.48 pounds of methamphetamine, 4.6 pounds of cocaine, and more than 11 pounds of marijuana.
Preliminary hearings for the accused were planned on May 12.
