Texas Art Teacher Apprehended Following Grooming Accusations And Alleged Middle School Chats

A 28-year-old middle school art teacher in Texas is facing a third-degree felony child grooming charge after several students reported getting sexually suggestive communications from her.

Haley Krista Radabaugh of Denton, Texas, was arrested on May 15 by the Denton Police Department while on a warrant issued by the Irving Police Department. According to records, she was put into Denton County Jail and then released after paying a $25,000 bond.

The investigation began when students from Barbara Bush Middle School in Irving addressed a school official. According to the arrest warrant, students alleged that Radabaugh “was known to be having inappropriate sexual conversations with at least three middle school students and providing drugs to students.”

Court records show Radabaugh’s Instagram discussions with a 14-year-old boy pupil on May 13. The warrant states that she wrote the kid, “I’ll tell you what. You send me a photo of yourself, and I’ll send you one of myself,” and subsequently remarked, “There was a youngster I had a crush on before you.”

Radabaugh is also accused of sending suggestive kiss emojis, using the word “babe” when addressing a pupil, and sending an image of herself exiting a shower. Police noticed that the photograph does not reveal nudity, but rather her face and torso from the mid-chest up, with exposed shoulders. According to the warrant, the 14-year-old pupil informed officials that receiving the messages made him feel humiliated and caused him to lose sleep.

Following the arrest, a spokeswoman for the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District acknowledged that Radabaugh is a “former” employee and is still being investigated. The district released a statement saying, “While we are limited in what we can reveal, we are deeply distressed and disheartened by these incidents.”
